TEARS

Almost all of us pray, but there is something special in the presence of God for our tears. There is a value for the tears that we shed in the presence of God.
“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out to Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus, sat by the Highway side begging”.
“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me”. Mark 10.46, 47
Here we read about blind beggar Bartimaeus. The strange thing in the bible is many of the rich people names are not mentioned in the bible but the number of beggars names are mentioned in the bible. Here this blind Bartimaeus was sitting on the highway side and begging in the road of Jericho. As soon as he heard the great sound of multitudes walking, he enquired from someone and come to know that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth; he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, thou son of David have mercy on me!” The strange thing that we find here is, in Jericho there were so many beggars and so many blind people but only one person felt the need to cry out for the mercy of God. Why others did not cry out to Jesus? It’s not because they do not have any problem in their life. Not because they did not know that Jesus could solve their problem. The reason could be they were not desperate. Today we might be in a great need, and you know very well, that Jesus can answer your needs but you may not desperate to cry out to the Lord. If we are not desperate to cry out for our need, then God will not be desperate to answer our prayer. Many of you may have questions like you may have very big problem in your life, you prayed but still God has not solved the problem. The reason is, yes you have prayed but you didn’t have tears. God’s words say, this poor man cried, and the Lord helped him and saved him out of all his troubles. The lesson we have to learn from blind Bartimaeus, if god doesn’t answer your prayer, he will surely answer your tears. Amen!
